I have heard of many Germans criticize the American Drivers, about the Americans likes to do certain things, while operating an motor vehicle on our roadways. Most Germans who drive on the Autobahn, are focused on driving and nothing else.

I have found for myself that many American drivers would rather drink their coffee, shave, brush their hair, write letters, talk on their phones, or test messages while driving.

I would be for suspending one's driving privileges for 1 year for the first offense, for texting while driving, without incident . For the second offense, without incident , 5 years revocation of their privileges.

I was behind a woman on the interstate the other day who completed her cell call, put down her phone and put her empty hand up to her ear as though there were a phone in it. Try to buy groceries without running a gauntlet of mindless people standing and staring at a shelf talking and talking and talking and talking...

I agree texting is very dangerous while driving. My little sister does it constantly and I am afraid any day something will happen to her. We need stricter laws on cell phones !!
