How many aircraft designs have been designed,developed, tested, adopted, produced, deemed obsolete and withdrawn from service while this aircraft has operated, performing vital and and often unheralded service to this nation? It seems sad that mans' participation might be the deciding factor in the U-2's retirement. It certainly attests to the abilities and fortitude of the pilots who have operated the U-2 over these many years.
