It's not a real place, just a nickname for Forest Park, my hometown, a troubled suburb on the southside of Atlanta, Georgia.
I found out that Forest Park was founded in 1908 as "Forest Station," a supply stop on the railroad line. So many trees had been cleared for construction the railworkers called it "Stump Town." And that is the glorious story of my suburban homelan
