Turner’s State of the County Address

“For us to have sustainable economic growth, in my opinion, we need a transit system,” said Turner. “Not everyone has a reliable form of transportation to get to work, shop, doctor visits or even to school.

“As the number of jobs grow in our county and the retail business starts to pick up, business owners before relocating to Clayton County want to know if their employees and/or customers will have a way to reach their business,” he added.

..Did a stupid rock fall on Turner's head ?...This county became more prosperous without having public transportation. It appears as though Turner is looking towards votes in the next election. I warned everyone about Turner. Does Coweta County Ga.have mass public transportation ?

.....While Clayton County economic growth has taken a nose dive :

Coweta had a population 127,317 in 2010 and a projection of 152,688 in 2015. 2000-2010 % change 42.7%. Coweta is the 49th fastest growing county in the US
Coweta’s annual growth rate is projected to be 3.68% from 2008 to 2013.
Coweta could have 147,620 people by 2011, 177,161 by 2020 and 234,257 by 2030 if an annual growth rate of 5.5 is maintained.
Coweta County ranks as the 17th largest county out of 159 counties in population in Georgia.

"Clayton County leaders have begun development of a new strategic plan"

The plan will recommend ways that the county can take advantage of its many economic development strengths, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport; transportation and logistics assets such as access to air transportation, an extensive rail network, and Interstate highway connections; location at the center of the metropolitan Atlanta area; a strong core of established industry; a growing four-year public university, and a water system with sufficient capacity.

....Riddle me with this :

.........And how long has Clayton County not taken advantage of Our, (already), Existing Airport, Our Highway Transportation System, our location to the hub of Atlanta ?

...I have been living in Clayton County since 1960, and what I seen is this :

....The Airport has been using the land of Clayton County for expansions to more Runways. This has made the northern section of Clayton County a path of overhead flights, for takeoffs & landings.....Not to mention the destruction of self contained communities during that time frame.

......The Highway System around Clayton County, is second to none. While residing in the most northern area of Clayton County, since 1960, I have witnessed the construction of I-85 , the 285 perimeter bypass, and the Airport bypass. This too, split up neighborhoods in the northern area of the county.

...In short order, The stunted growth of this county has absolutely nothing to do with public transportation.
