Forest Park Branch
Clayton County celebrated the grand opening of its newest branch library in the City of Forest Park on Sunday, December 16th. Friends of the Library, government officials, project team members and neighbors gathered to tour the new 16,000 square foot facility located on Main Street in Forest Park, Georgia.
The branch library will have approximately 80 computers for public use including 22 computers in the youth area. A 40 seat multi-purpose room, a teen area with study room, and a 18-person training room are a few of the areas in the new Library. The Library will house a collection of over 52,000 books with plenty of expansion space. The entire building has a raised floor allowing easy access to underfloor heating & cooling, electrical and data distribution, as well as flexibility for changes as the Library’s needs change in the future. Large expanses of windows take advantage of daylight allowing less use of lighting during the day. All new furniture and equipment was installed.
The library was designed by Craig Gaulden Davis and constructed by Hogan Construction Group. Silverman CPM is the Program Manager for the Clayton County SPLOST Program and the Forest Park Library is the first facility completed in the program.
