.......The Counter Guy with the gray beard ( Barry ), from Moss, is the person that closed my purchase on my four inch S&W 27-2 Revolver. I had the very good fortune of stumbling upon this S&W 27-2 with a 4" inch barrel, in unfired condition, complete with the Factory Wooden Presentation Box, all the paperwork, and a factory tuned double action trigger. S&W only offered these revolvers with the counter sunk cylinders, pinned barrels, in the four inch barrels for only a couple years, before switching over to the 27-3. The counter guy at Moss wasn't too familiar with the gun, and I fetched it for $475. dollars, after I talked him down $25. ;D From the very beginning, Smith & Wesson understood the importance of building a Combat Revolver of superior strength to handle the energy of the .357 magnum. The introduction of the Registered .357 Magnum on the S&W N Frame, in 1935, remains a landmark in handgun history. The S&W Model 27 picked up where the Registered 357 magnum left off with it's designation Model Number. From today's standards of modern handguns, those features of the Model 27 would not be found in a production grade handgun. DoubleAction.
