Forest Park wants BOE to join TAD.....however :
"School board reluctant to give up tax dollars"
He dangled the prospect of using TAD funds to build a multi-purpose facility — which could host concerts, athletic events and high school graduations — on the old army base site. It would be built with “surplus TAD” funds. School system officials have long coveted a large multi-use facility so they could bring high school graduations back the county.
#The commencement ceremonies have been held in Atlanta since 2007. The school board has continually groaned for years about having to hold graduation ceremonies in Atlanta, but school system officials have always argued it had to be done because there is no indoor facility in the county large enough to hold the commencements.

....The Education Leaders would rather build a auditorium for the purposes of high school graduations. If I'm not mistaken, doesn't most High Schools have an auditorium with a stage ?........The Recreation Center of Forest Park has a auditorium, with a stage, that serves many various uses. I would have to go with Forest Park's request to join TAD.....This county already has High School Auditoriums, with Stages, they just don't how to use them.
....Gone are the days that High School Auditoriums not being used for Proms and Graduations.....Are we not living in a wasteful and spoiled society by doing such things ?
......We was using the High Schools Auditoriums for most everything, when I was growing up, and this was during the most prosperous of times in this county. In 1968, I attended the New North Clayton High School, and it's Auditorium had retractable bleachers for special events.
