Kem Kimbrough commented on your link. Kem wrote:"You may or may not like this opinion, but here goes - my real problem with the bill was that it was rammed down people's throats without meaningful debate. As a former lobbyist, I've seen the way certain bills are "pushed" according to deals made in the back rooms, and, unfortunately, every piece of legislation on gun ownership has been handled in that fashion. I see good points and bad points on both sides of the argument, but until we hear from the citizens, we won't get a reasonable piece of legislation on gun ownership.... There is room for reform."

.......Before this Bill was Voted on, I sent emails to my State Senator and my State Representative from Clayton County and requesting them to support HB 89.

..... This is another Self Protection Bill, that The Legislators in Clayton County failed to support. This Bill only pertains to those citizens that obtains Georgia State Firearm Licenses.

.....Kemuel "Kem" Kimbrough, Sr. is currently serving as The Sheriff of Clayton County, Ga.

....You might be asking yourself, why I was lead to Kem Kimbrough with questions about our self protection Bills. Maybe, this would help to explain :

...One of Our State Representatives, from Clayton County, that Voted NAY ( No ), on this Self Protection Bill, told me this :

Quote:
I voted against SB 396 because it is already legal for persons to protect themselves. Police officers asked me to vote against this bill because they were concerned that bill went too far and would put their lives in danger.

"because it is already legal for persons to protect themselves."

.....No is was not !!!!!!

......Since this Bill became State Law, in 2006, has any Police Officers been Killed in The Clayton County Police Department or The Clayton County Sheriff's Department by law abiding citizens ?
