....Some of Our Legislators, from Clayton County, gave Victor Hill a pay raise after his fiasco on the "Snipers on the Roof Top" incident, which resulted in a 7 million dollar lawsuit .
........House Bill 704
......By: Representatives Darryl Jordan of the 77th, Heckstall of the 62nd, Celeste Johnson of the 75th, Georganna Sinkfield of the 60th, and Roberta Abdul-Salaam of the 74th
(( "The sheriff of Clayton County shall receive a total annual salary of $122,200.00 including any supplements and additional compensation for services which are paid pursuant to state law or county ordinance, which are being received on March 15, 2007, and which are paid from the funds of Clayton County. This shall not prohibit the governing authority of Clayton County from increasing the amount of any supplement or compensation for additional duties which the governing authority may lawfully pay to the sheriff on or after July 1, 2007." ))
......The Snipers on the Roof took place on Victor Hill's first day as The Clayton County Sheriff, in JANUARY 2005. For that incident, some of our Representatives still thought that he deserved a increase in pay. I may be wrong about this, but, this still puzzles me.

The Poop of Stupidity Hits The Fan Again
Quote:
Lawmakers speak up for Clayton County’s sheriff-elect — whose name escapes them
An awkward press conference just wrapped up at the state Capitol, called by Clayton County lawmakers in defense of Sheriff-elect Victor Hill. At least that’s who we think they were talking about.
Hill, you’ll recall, faces a couple dozen felony indictments for alleged misbehavior during his first stint as sheriff, which ended when voters booted him in 2008. Hill revived his law enforcement career by beating incumbent Kem Kimbrough in the Democratic primary this summer, and defeated a write-in candidate this month.
"Legislators ask governor to let indicted Victor Hill take office of sheriff on Jan. 1"
Quote:
To remove Hill is “totally disrespectful to the voters of Clayton County,” said Sen. Valencia Seay, D-Riverdale. “Allow the judicial system to do what they do.”
Rep. Darryl Jordan, D-Riverdale, has drafted a letter asking the governor to leave Hill alone until the criminal case is resolved with a trial.
Five state lawmakers discussed their opposition to a step that could lead to Hill's removal from office, at least temporarily.
State Sen. Gail Davenport said that since the courts have not ruled on Hill's case, the delegation wants to make sure he has the right to prove his innocence.
"GSA asks governor to suspend sheriff-elect Victor Hill"
Quote:
The sheriff's association has recommended a temporary replacement for Hill, naming retired Clayton County sheriff Bill Lemacks. They would like for him to serve as sheriff until sheriff-elect Victor Hill can get his matters resolved.
Hill's attorney, Drew Findling, disputed the GSA's assertions.
"I think [Clayton County residents] are entitled to have a sheriff that reflects their choice, not the choice of white people," said Findling.
